Climate victories to ban natural gas in Berkeley and beyond
On Day 53 of #100daysofBTS to #EndTheClimateCrisis, Tuesday, January 12, 2021, we talk about Black Swan events characterized by their extreme rarity, severe impact, and widespread insistence they were obvious in hindsight. As we approach what might be a Black Swan event in US politics, we reflect again on @SustainingAllLife’s message to listen, think, and connect, not just react, as we seek to heal political divisions, eliminate racism, and end the #GlobalClimateCrisis. We look at #BTS’s unprecedented domination for four weeks on 2 of Billboard’s global charts, their feat of selling over a half million copies of an album in the U.S. in 2020 (matched only by Taylor Swift). We discuss unprecedented victories in 2020 and 2021 in fighting the climate crisis, such as the movement to #BanNaturalGas and #Electrification of our communities, including in Berkeley and San Francisco, and what might be needed to hold the incoming Administration and Congress accountable to their promises of a #BidenClimatePlan and #NetZeroEmissions by 2050. Join us again for #BTSBlackSwan from their online concert. Let’s take time to listen, keep thinking, stay connected, stay rational, stay real.
